Job summary

SEERS seeks a Research Technician II to support coastal ecosystem studies as part of the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER program. This position is based at the UGA Marine Institute on Sapelo Island, GA, where you will join a team of technicians, faculty and students in field research.

Responsibilities include assisting with water quality, soils, and wetland biota studies, and performing related field tasks. Housing is provided at the Marine Institute.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and some relevant experience.
• Candidates with 4-year degrees in environmental fields and significant experience preferred.
• Must be able to operate pickup trucks; basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with studies of water quality, soils, and wetland plants and animals.
• Work at the UGA Marine Institute on Sapelo Island, GA.
• Collaborate with technicians, faculty and students at the field site.
