Job summary

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is seeking a part-time athletic coach to support its sports programs and student activities. The role requires CPR certification and a valid pupil-activity permit, with a preference for candidates who have coaching experience and knowledge of the sport.

Expect responsibilities including practice supervision, roster submission, equipment handling, and effective communication with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• CPR certificate is required.
• A Pupil-activity (coaching) permit from the Ohio Department of Education is required.
• Previous coaching experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport/activity and a willingness to seek out new techniques, aspects, or procedures for the sport/activity.
• Education: Diploma, Transcripts, GED.

Responsibilities

• Attend CMSD Pre-season meetings.
• Understands and follows CMSD guidelines and rules.
• Attends and arrives promptly to practices and games.
• Track, communicate, and comply with student eligibility status.
• Submit roster, schedule, and transportation needs with the required paperwork to the athletic department and principal.
• Distributes, collects, and cares for uniforms and equipment.
• Participates in the schedule professional developed by the Athletics Department.
• Upload scores and statistics to the approved CMSD reporting site.
• Cooperates with the principal to implement the vision of the program.
• Supervises students before and after practice and competitions.
• Communicates effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
