The East Side Union High School District is seeking a skilled Sculpture Coach to collaborate with the Visual Arts Instructor in supporting and enhancing classroom instruction for 3D art forms. The role involves guiding students across materials such as clay, plaster, wire, wood, metal, paper, and 3D printing.

Responsibilities include assisting in design and execution of sculpture projects, ensuring safe tool use, and helping at-risk students access learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of sculpture materials and techniques (clay, plaster, wire, wood, metal, paper, and/or 3D printing)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational skills to manage tools, materials, and classroom resources effectively
• Experience working with high school students, particularly multilingual or at-risk youth, preferred

• Provide targeted support to at-risk students to ensure equitable access to learning opportunities
• Demonstrate safe and proper use of tools, equipment
• Prepare and organize classroom materials, tools, and equipment for daily instruction
• Support classroom management and monitor student progress under teacher supervision
• Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and artistic experimentation among students
• The coach would ideally come to every class period that the instructor is teaching a 3D Course

Job Summary

The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) is seeking a skilled and passionate Sculpture Coach to collaborate with the Visual Arts Instructor in supporting and enhancing classroom instruction assisting students in creating three-dimensional art forms. The position provides instructional and technical support in a variety of sculpture media—such as clay, plaster, wire, wood, metal, paper, and 3D printing—using both additive and subtractive methods. The coach collaborates closely with the Visual Arts Instructor to promote an inclusive, safe, and engaging studio environment that nurtures student creativity and skill development in the 3D Arts.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Working knowledge of sculpture materials and techniques (clay, plaster, wire, wood, metal, paper, and/or 3D printing)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational skills to manage tools, materials, and classroom resources effectively
• Experience working with high school students, particularly multilingual or at-risk youth, preferred
• Must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results prior to employment
