Job description

About Us

InStride Health’s mission is to deliver specialty anxiety and OCD care that works for every kid, teen, young adult, and family who needs it. Through this mission, we are expanding access to insurance-based care, increasing engagement in treatment, and improving treatment outcomes. We are doing this by combining research-backed clinical care and innovative technology to eliminate the major problems with care today: difficulty finding providers, months of waiting to be seen, arduous onboarding processes, and inconsistent use of evidence-based therapies and outcomes tracking. Our vision is to become the nation’s most trusted provider of pediatric anxiety and OCD care.

Team InStride Health: Our Core Values
  • - Give Heart: We lead with heart, treating patients and their families the way we want our loved ones to be treated.
  • - Work Smart: We find smarter ways to solve hard problems and fix the broken mental health system by leveraging technology, diversity of thought, and innovation.
  • - Have Humility: We leave our egos at the door, empowering our team to collaborate, celebrate diversity, and adopt a growth mindset.
  • - Embrace Community: We all belong. We are in this together, and we never worry alone. We believe in each other and recognize that every voice matters.
About the Role

InStride Health is seeking a Coach Manager to lead and develop a team of coaches delivering high-quality, evidence-based support to our patients and families. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Coaching, you will provide day-to-day people leadership, performance management, and operational oversight for your team while serving as an important connection point between coaches and the broader Coaching Department.

In this role, you will foster a high-performing, growth-oriented team while ensuring consistent care quality, team performance, and effective day-to-day operations. You will partner closely with clinical and operational leaders to support care delivery, address team and patient needs, manage capacity, and ensure coaches have the guidance, feedback, and resources they need to succeed. You will also contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the Coaching Department through cross-functional collaboration and shared team insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • - Lead, support, and develop a team of coaches, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
  • - Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to help team members meet role expectations and develop their capabilities.
  • - Manage core people‑leadership responsibilities, including recruiting, interviewing, performance reviews, goal setting, time and attendance, and addressing performance or conduct concerns.
  • - Provide oversight to ensure coaches deliver high-quality, evidence‑based care aligned with InStride standards and established clinical, operational, and safety expectations.
  • - Partner with therapists and other members of the care team to address complex patient needs, care concerns, and escalations, using sound judgment about when additional support is needed.
  • - Manage team capacity, coverage, and workload to support sustainable care delivery, including providing occasional direct coaching coverage when needed.
  • - Monitor team performance, care quality, and operational trends, using data and team insights to identify strengths, address gaps, and inform decisions.
  • - Support consistent adoption of department processes, workflows, and care‑delivery updates across the team.
  • - Represent the coach experience and team needs in partnership with clinical, operational, product, and other cross‑functional teams.
  • - Share team insights and feedback to inform improvements to care delivery, workflows, technology, and the overall coach experience.
  • - Support department initiatives and organizational priorities while contributing to a connected Coaching culture and sharing effective practices across manager teams.
What You Need to Succeed in the Role
  • - Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field required.
  • - Demonstrated experience supervising and/or managing a team of professionals, ideally within a healthcare, behavioral coaching, or structured support environment.
  • - Strong understanding of behavioral coaching, evidence-based behavior change, and the needs of children, adolescents, young adults, and families.
  • - Ability to use performance data, team metrics, and qualitative insights to identify trends, support team performance, and inform decisions.
  • - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, navigate challenges, and collaborate effectively across clinical and operational teams.
  • - Demonstrated ability to create a positive team environment, develop individual strengths, and support continuous improvement.
  • - Ability to assess complex situations, determine appropriate next steps, and recognize when issues require additional support or escalation.
  • - Comfort using technology, data, and digital tools to support team performance and care delivery, with openness to evolving workflows and new tools.
  • - Demonstrated commitment to HIPAA compliance and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • - Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, mission‑driven environment.

The starting annual salary for this role is $65,000. We maintain consistent starting salaries and salary bands to ensure our team members have a clear path for growth within their roles, allowing their compensation to increase as they gain experience at InStride.

Why Join Our Team
  • - Generous benefits package (401k with match, Flexible PTO, paid holidays, paid service days, 4 week paid sabbatical, 12 week paid parental leave, health benefits starting on your first day, and more)
  • - Opportunity to join a mission‑driven company that is changing the landscape of pediatric mental health treatment
  • - Chance to make a far‑reaching impact by helping children and families access desperately‑needed, evidence‑based care
  • - Opportunity to work with talented and experienced team members who have devoted their lives to solving this problem
  • - Fully virtual: work from the comfort of your home with periodic in‑person retreats

We want to make our clinical services available for everyone, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or how you identify. To achieve this, we recognize we must continually make progress in building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. Through these efforts, we support two primary objectives at InStride Health:

  • - Providing high quality patient care to families. We are in a privileged position to support families during a vulnerable time in their lives. We approach all families and each other with compassion and are most effective as a diverse team where all individuals feel valued, respected, and accepted.
  • - Building a mission‑driven business that lasts. Specifically, we believe our commitment to a supportive culture improves innovation, decision‑making, and efficiency.
