Job summary

Natick Public Schools seeks a Coach for Junior Varsity Cheerleading at Natick High School for Fall 2026 season. The role involves leading student-athletes, implementing athletic development, and fostering teamwork in a diverse public school setting.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Athletics, supervise practices, and participate in required trainings and safety protocols. Nights and some weekends are expected, with a focus on character building and lifelong success

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or GED.
• Professional Certification: MIAA certifications required.
• Specialized Knowledge: coaching adolescents; diversity and inclusion; student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
• Evenings and weekends may be required.
• Complete trainings as assigned by Natick Public Schools.
• Identify and address bias and its impact on rigor and opportunity for students.

JOB GOAL: Lead and Support student-athletes to reach their full potential through athletic development, character building, teamwork, and a commitment to lifelong success both on and off the field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School graduate or GED

Professional Certification: Candidates must complete certifications as required by MIAA

Specialized Knowledge:

• Solid foundation in student-centered coaching
• Knowledge of the developmental needs of adolescents
• Understanding of the theories and methodologies for coaching adolescents
• Understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of adolescents
• Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice

Preferred Experience:

• Experience coaching in a diverse public school preferred but not required
• Experience working with students with disabilities/special abilities preferred
• Experience working with students who are English language learners preferred
• ExperienceExperience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool preferred, but will train the right candidate

Skills:

• Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
• Ability to create a welcoming team environment for student athletes
• Ability to coach and support students in improving their individual and team skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable

• Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
• Candidates must be organized and able to meet ongoing, time-sensitive deadlines for work production
