Job summary

Frontier Middle School seeks a Head Track and Field Coach to lead the program for Moses Lake students. The coach will manage practices, develop athletes, and align with district policies and the NCW league framework.

This is a part-time coaching position with a focus on safety, skill-building, and sportsmanship. Qualified candidates will demonstrate knowledge of track and field techniques, the ability to organize sessions, and a commitment to student-athlete growth within the Moses Lake School

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to carry out duties and follow district policies.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach secondary students.
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
• Meet WIAA age requirements for the position.
• Organizational skills to run a well-managed program.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, supervise, and evaluate practice sessions.
• Implement a safety plan teaching proper techniques.
• Adhere to all safety rules.
• Have an emergency medical plan in place.
• Inform parents of attendance, discipline and injuries.
• Assist the head coach in duties and responsibilities.
• Work within the framework and philosophy of the head coach.

Coach Salary Schedule

Coaches will receive payment no later than June 30, 2026.

POSITION POSTING

The Moses Lake School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Head Track & Field CoachatFroniterMiddle School. Moses Lake Middle Schools participate in the North Central Washington Middle School League (NCW). The Moses Lake School District is committed to teaching and developing useful, life-long skills in its student athletes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated ability to effectively carry out the duties of the position and comply with the policies and procedures set forth by the Middle School Principal, Athletic Director, and the Moses Lake School District.
• Exhibited knowledge of the sport, demonstrated technical skills, and successful experience teaching these skills to secondary school student-athletes.
• Valid First Aid and CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to start of season.
• Ability to meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position.
• Exhibited organizational skills and abilities to ensure a well-managed program.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Bilingual preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• WIAA standards require all coaches to complete sport specific WIAA coaching standard courses by the third week of the season.
• Work within the basic framework and philosophy of the head coach
• Demonstrate knowledge of modern trends, techniques, strategies, playing rules and procedures.
• Assist the head coach in carrying out his/her responsibilities.
• Organize, supervise, and evaluate practice sessions.
• Implement a safety plan that includes teaching of the proper techniques and fundamentals.
• Adhere to all safety rules.
• Have an emergency medical plan in place.
• Inform parents of individual players regarding attendance, discipline, and injury.
