Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated coach to mentor elementary school athletes across sports such as football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and more. You will teach fundamental and advanced skills, study rules and safety, and support recruitment and program meetings.

Applicants should have a minimum high school diploma and at least three years of sport-specific experience, with coaching or urban youth experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in designated sport.
• Coaching experience or experience working with urban youth preferred.
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Teaches fundamental and advanced athletic skills to elementary school aged athletes in order to prepare them for competition
• Becomes an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques required for the sport as well as knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness and safety
• Supports the coordination and recruitment of student participants
• Attends Professional Development opportunities and Program meetings

What You'll Need

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED

• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
• Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Required

• Three years of experience in designated sport
• Previous coaching experience or experience working with urban youth and or teaching experience preferred
