Job Description

I. NATURE OF POSITION:

The High School Coach shall be directly responsible to the building principal, but will work through the Activities Director in carrying out his/her assignments.

The High School Coach shall help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, physical development, and knowledge of the game.

II. TYPICAL DUTIES:

• A. Work with the Activities Director in scheduling practices and contests.
• B. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.

III. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• A. Have a specialized preparation emphasizing the coaching of the respective sport.
• B. Have a fundamental knowledge of the care and prevention of athletic injuries and training programs.
• C. Hold a current Standard First Aid Card.
