Overview
Bishop Snyder High School is looking for an experienced Coach to serve as an assistant for the various seasons. Prior coaching experience is preferred. Must be able to complete a background check and Protecting God's Children (PGC) class.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the school principal and the Athletic Director, support the School and the Diocese of St. Augustine in their mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic School environment.
- Instruct and work with athletes to prepare them for competition. Help athletes to play their best individually or as a team in sports.
- Be an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport; know about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
- Create an environment in which the team can use its skills and abilities to their maximum potential.
- Establish a consistent disciplinary approach; promote self-direction and positive self-image; set high standards for student behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively.
- Demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing School policies and regulations; maintain confidentiality of information; follow dress code standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Physical/mental requirements: coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual capabilities, and the ability to lift, as required.
- Required activities: walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.
Qualifications
- Excellent communications skills including written and oral, public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
- Be available for evening and weekend work as necessary; have reliable transportation.
