Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Mahwah, NJ, seeks a dedicated Co-Teacher to support Toddler or Preschool classrooms. The role involves working closely with the Head Teacher on curriculum, lesson planning, and parent communication, while fostering individual student goals and maintaining records.

Ideal candidates bring an Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related credentials, Montessori experience preferred, and strong communication skills to engage families.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or AA in a similar field with required credits or CDA.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• NAMC preferred or willing to obtain within the first year of employment.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all students enjoy a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
• Collaborating with the Head Teacher in the areas of curriculum, lesson planning, and parent communication.
• Working closely with students to foster individual success plans and maintaining accurate records.
• Learn how to effectively demonstrate Montessori materials and philosophy.
• Collaborating with teaching staff to plan school events and prepare curriculum.
• Participating in staff development activities, educational trainings, and mentorship programs.

Location: Mahwah, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:30 am - 6:30 pm

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.
