Job summary

Acquire4Hire in Columbia, South Carolina seeks a Child Care Co-Teacher to support the emotional and social development of children in a Christian daycare environment. Summary

Looking for a Child Care Co-Teacher to help with development of children.

Duties
  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Sanitize and clean toys and play equipment.
  • Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities.
  • Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
  • Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
  • Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
  • Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
  • Maintain a safe play environment.
  • Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
  • Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children.
  • Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
  • Regulate children's rest periods.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making phone calls.
  • Organize and participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games. Supervising, teaching, helping, praying, singing and interacting with children.
  • Help children with emotions.
  • Create learning lessons.
  • Prepare the material for the lesson plans.
  • Diaper changing and potty training.
  • Maintain daily routine.
  • Proper food administration.
  • Talk, read, and sing to and with the children about Jesus.
  • Give hugs, smiles, and cuddles.
  • Demonstrate kindness, patience, and fun.
  • Must be reliable and flexible.
  • Perform duties and any additional tasks requested by supervisor.
  • Communicate with parents about the child\'s day.
  • Praise Jesus with children.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the room and center.
  • Clean and help clean the room and center.
Requirements

Must pass all screening requirements per DSS, and a background check. All staff must have completed the equivalent of a high school diploma, and obtain 15 hours of continuing education every year. At least 6 months of experience working in a child care setting.

Nice To Haves

Infant / child CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
