Job summary

Comcast Advertising is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and observability for Freewheel Buyer Cloud and Revenue Science teams. These teams run thousands of applications and containers across regions, built on AWS and Kubernetes, managed through Infrastructure-as-Code.

You will design scalable infra, write IaC, and support the observability stack while engaging in on-call rotations and incident response across a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We'relooking for a Site Reliability Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, system reliability, and observability for the FreewheelBuyerCloudand Revenue Science teams.

FreewheelBuyerCloud(formerly Beeswax) is a massive-scale,highly available, user-friendly programmatic demand-side bidding platform. Revenue Science builds the company's machine learning and AI solutions. Together, these teams run thousands of applications, servers, and containers across multiple regions worldwide — built on AWS and Kubernetes and managed entirely through Infrastructure-as-Code.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure and tooling toprovidehighscalability, reliability, andsub-secondperformance levelsusing industry best practices.
• Writing code and scripts to support Infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, and automated incident resolution.
• Support and extend theobservabilitystackto capture andalertonany system issues.
• Participate inon-call rotationsand be anescalationcontact for service incidents.
• Writing systems documentation, troubleshooting playbooks,and otherinstructionmanuals.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MinimumQualificationsandSkills

• Bachelor’s degree incomputer science,computerengineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Professional experienceadministratingLinux,cloud, and containers.
• Professionalexperience coding in higher-level languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal / written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified AWS Solutions ArchitectAssociateorDeveloper Associate
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Compensation

Virginia Pay Range: $92,524.07 - $138,786.11This job can be performed in Illinois with a Pay Range of $84,478.50 - $138,786.11Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
