Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is offering a Co-op/Intern opportunity for a motivated cybersecurity student for the 2027 Spring and/or Summer semesters.

You will work with Information Security Analysts on real-time monitoring and security tasks in a hands-on environment. Responsibilities include security assessments, risk analysis, alert investigations, vulnerability scans, incident response, and developing secure baselines across various systems and products.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited cybersecurity degree program.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Must have completed Sophomore year or greater.
• Must hold US citizenship only.

Saab, Inc. is in search of a motivated, enthusiastic cybersecurity student who would be interested in putting their studies to real-work practice through a Co-op/Intern opportunity at our Collamer location in East Syracuse, NY. This assignment is for the 2027 Spring semester (January - May) and/or Summer semester (May - August).

As part of the Information Security group, you will be working with our Information Security Analysts to perform real-time monitoring of our information systems.

Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:

• Performs security assessments of applications and systems using penetration and vulnerability testing.
• Assist with risk analysis.
• Configure and investigate security alerts.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and coordinate with IT to implement software fixes to remove system vulnerabilities
• Respond immediately to cybersecurity-related incidents and assist in investigations
• Incident response using forensic investigation techniques.
• Develop, apply, and assess secure technical baselines for various applications and products (i.e. Windows OS, Linux OS, firewalls, switches, etc.

Compensation Range: $18.24 - $20.27 per hour

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Skills:

• Enrollment in an accredited degree program with a major in Cybersecurity or related discipline
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
• Must have completed Sophomore year or greater
• Must hold only US citizenship

Desired Skills:

• Basic understanding of networks/subnet masks/gateways/routers/VLANs.
• Well-organized with the ability to thrive in fast-paced high-stress scenarios.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team building experience working in an international environment
