Job summary

Turner Construction Company in New York, NY is seeking a construction-focused co-op to assist in engineering and administration of projects within the SPD or other divisions. The role supports documenting shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and coordinating information across the project team.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education in Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
• Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in obtaining and reviewing information for processing shop drawings, product data, and samples; communicate information across all levels of the project team.
• Assist in managing communications including RFIs (Requests for Information) and responses.
• Assist in preparing estimates for changes in work, including review of Change Order requests from subcontractors.
• Study contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
• Maintain and update contract documents, electronic project logs, and project records.
• Distribute information required for construction to appropriate parties.
• Assist Engineering to ensure materials/equipment are released for fabrication to meet schedule.
• Assist in preparation of final project records, OM manuals, and close-out documents.
• Other activities and duties as assigned.
