Job summary

Trans Ash, Inc. is seeking Civil Engineering Co-ops to work onsite on a large civil construction project. Positions are located at Bucks, AL; Quinton, AL; Sherills Ford, NC; and Semora, NC, with temporary relocation assistance provided.

You will support Operations, Quality, Project Controls, and Surveying, assisting daily tasks from RFI management to GPS surveying and reporting, under Project Manager supervision.

Qualifications

• Prolonged desk work on a computer.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather.
• Must pass drug test, MVR, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operations: document management, RFIs, submittal review, redline drawings; production and cycle time management; quantity tracking; site reporting.
• Quality: perform quality inspections and reporting; ensure construction drawing and spec adherence.
• Project Controls: cost reviews, schedule management, commodity reporting.
• Surveying: basic GPS as-built surveying; grade verification; basic quantitative analysis using Propeller and GPS.

Position Description

We are looking for Civil Engineering Co-Ops! This is a paid position and will have you work onsite at a large civil construction project located in one of the following locations (temporary relocation assistance is provided):

• Bucks, AL
• Quinton, AL
• Sherills Ford, NC
• Semora, NC

The projects consist of mass excavation, large-scale civil improvements and landfill construction. This position will report to the Project Manager and will support Operations, Quality, Project Controls and Surveying Department needs on a daily basis. These responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Operations

Position Requirements

• Co-op students must be seeking a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in all types of weather, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be physically able to perform the work outside in hot and/ or cold weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in a construction environment.
• Must be able to walk slopes and uneven terrain.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
• May require significant time in the field, including walking up or down slopes.
• Must be able to work in a construction environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
