Job summary

Job Description

The AI Software Engineering Co-op role involves working on software development projects within AI. This co-op provides hands‑on experience developing AI‑powered solutions that enhance software quality, security, delivery velocity, and engineering efficiency. You will collaborate with experienced software engineers, AI champions, architects, and engineering leaders while contributing to real‑world projects that support enterprise‑scale industrial automation software development. You will be assigned a dedicated mentor to guide you through your experience and participate in networking events and company activities. This role is on a hybrid schedule working in Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH. This role is full‑time and your eligibility must be for either January‑August 2027, or June‑December 2027.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll work with development teams, gaining hands‑on experience in software development environments and using development techniques.
• You will have exposure to the full development life cycle, agile methodology, system design, test‑driven development, test automation, and build and configuration management.
• Build software applications, services, and integrations using modern software engineering practices and AI technologies.

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduating in May 2028 or later (December 2027 if co‑op starts in January 2027).
• Interest in continuous innovation and improvement in software development.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Angular/Node, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript (Typescript), Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning concepts, or prompt engineering is a plus.
• Some experience in Angular, React, and modern web application frameworks.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, and cloud‑native technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and test automation frameworks.
• Experience in industrial automation software, PLC development, and manufacturing technologies.
