Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace Applied Research & Technology group in Cedar Rapids, IA invites you to join as a Coop Intern Engineer to work on resilient networked mission systems for next generation aerospace and defense. You will apply signal processing and AI to bring innovative solutions from the lab into fielded products.

You will help frame problems, run experiments, and build prototypes—laboratory setups and hardware-in-the-loop—while collaborating with a small, high-impact team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Advanced Degree in CS/EE and enrolled through the internship/co-op.
• Experience planning and executing experiments or evaluations and using data to drive design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Frame problems and test hypotheses with teammates into clear demonstration outcomes.
• Implement software or firmware AI algorithms/systems at the edge of what is possible.
• Build and evolve prototypes—simulations, software, lab setups, and hardware-in-the-loop.
• Design and run experiments, analyze data and iterate on concepts, models, and implementations.
• Support integration, test and demo events—lab, field, or flight to show capability and refine designs.
