Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mental Health Professional to interview, diagnose, and develop collaborative treatment plans for consumers facing mental-health and substance-use challenges. The role emphasizes crisis intervention, case management, and group program facilitation within a full-time schedule and after-hours on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Human Services, with a Master’s preferred, and be on track for CADC licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services is required.
• Master’s Degree in Human Services is preferred.
• Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) with licensure.
• CADC licensure eligible and must be certified within two years of employment.
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses and interventions.
• Strong communication and ethics knowledge; proficiency with assessment tools and case management.

Responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate consumers and establish diagnoses.
• Develop treatment plans collaboratively with consumers, defining goals, outcomes, and treatment timeframes.
• Monitor consumer behavior and progress.
• Provide counseling and clinical services for substance use and mental health issues.
• Intervene therapeutically to address mental health diagnoses and improve functioning.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals to support services.
• Carry an assigned caseload and complete required monthly direct service hours.
• Plan, develop, and facilitate consumer group programs.
• Provide transportation arrangements for consumers and teach life-management skills.
• Work full-time (40 hours) with after-hours on-call rotation.
• Report to the Assistant Director.

Job description

• Provide and arrange transportation services for consumers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field required
• Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
• Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
• Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) preferred
• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) eligible and must become certified within two years of employment
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses and interventions
• Knowledge of family systems theory, counseling theory, and stages of human development
• Knowledge of professional ethics, assessment tools and testing, case management processes, community resources and referral options
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, drug and chemical dependencies, addiction processes, and substance use recovery theories
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Travel to other sites
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance
• Maintain First Aid & CPR certification
• At least 21 years of age
• Complete required registry clearances and criminal fingerprint background checks
• Participate in after-hours and day-call crisis rotation
• Maintain CADC licensure once eligible
