Job summary

RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc. is seeking a store leader to develop a high‑performing team and drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced, guest‑centric environment.

You will mentor Shift Managers, coach staff, and empower teams while upholding food safety and brand standards across the store. Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in retail/food service leadership, strong coaching and communication skills, and the ability to leverage metrics such as P&L and labor to improve profitability.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in retail, food service, or restaurant leadership.
• 1+ year of management experience preferred.
• Strong coaching, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in high‑volume, guest‑focused environments.
• Ability to read and act on business metrics such as P&L, labor, and sales.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop a High‑Performing Team: Cultivate a guest‑first culture, mentor and support Shift Managers and team members, empower teams, foster open communication.
• Support Operational Excellence: Execute store‑level strategies to drive sales, guest satisfaction, and profitability; monitor inventory, vendor relationships, and cash control; drive promotions and ensure food service compliance; maintain store cleanliness and brand standards.
• Champion Food Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular food quality checks, coach on food safety standards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain documentation for audits.
• Drive Results Through Collaboration: Analyze reports, identify trends, take action to improve store performance; support scheduling; provide performance feedback and accountability.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Develop a High‑Performing Team

• Cultivate a guest‑first culture, ensuring every interaction is welcoming and efficient
• Mentor and support Shift Managers and team members through training and coaching
• Empower teams by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and leading by example
• Foster open communication and collaboration across all shifts

Support Operational Excellence

• Assist in executing store‑level strategies to drive sales, guest satisfaction, and profitability
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, vendor relationships, and cash control
• Drive promotional execution, ensure food service compliance, and elevate the in‑store experience
• Ensure the store is clean, stocked, and aligned with RaceTrac brand standards

Champion Food Safety & Compliance

• Conduct regular food quality checks and coach the team on food safety standards
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain and organize required documentation for audits or inspections

Drive Results Through Collaboration

• Analyze reports, identify trends, and take action to improve store performance
• Support team scheduling and staffing needs in coordination with the General Manager
• Provide performance feedback and help drive accountability across the team

What We’re Looking For

• 3‑5 years of experience in retail, food service, or restaurant leadership
• 1+ year of management experience preferred
• Strong coaching, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience in high‑volume, guest‑focused environments
• Ability to read and act on business metrics such as P&L, labor, and sales

Must Haves for This Role

• High School Diploma or GED, in progress or completed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
• Willing to obtain and maintain food handler and alcohol server permits (if required)
