Job summary

RaceTrac is seeking a Co-Manager to support the General Manager, lead by example, and grow a winning team. You’ll drive store performance, mentor staff, and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll develop talent, manage day-to-day operations, and uphold RaceTrac’s standards while advancing through a path to store leadership. Growth opportunities are core to our culture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in retail, food service, or restaurant leadership.
• 1+ year of management experience preferred.
• Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in high-volume, guest-focused environments.
• Ability to read and act on business metrics (P&L, labor, sales).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team with guest-first culture.
• Mentor Shift Managers and team through training and coaching; set expectations with feedback.
• Foster open communication across all shifts and lead by example.
• Support store-level strategies to drive sales, guest satisfaction and profitability.
• Monitor inventory, vendor relationships, and cash control.
• Drive promotions, ensure food service compliance, and elevate in-store experience.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store aligned with RaceTrac standards.
• Conduct regular food quality checks and coach on safety standards.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed; audit-ready documentation.
• Analyze reports, identify trends, and take action to improve performance.
• Support scheduling with GM and drive accountability across the team.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team

• Cultivate a guest-first culture, ensuring every interaction is welcoming and efficient
• Mentor and support Shift Managers and team members through training and coachingEmpower teams by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and leading by example
• Foster open communication and collaboration across all shifts

Support Operational Excellence

• Assist in executing store-level strategies to drive sales, guest satisfaction, and profitability
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, vendor relationships, and cash control
• Drive promotional execution, ensure food service compliance, and elevate the in-store experience
• Ensure the store is clean, stocked, and aligned with RaceTrac brand standards

Champion Food Safety & Compliance

• Conduct regular food quality checks and coach the team on food safety standards
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain and organize required documentation for audits or inspections

Drive Results Through Collaboration

• Analyze reports, identify trends, and take action to improve store performance
• Support team scheduling and staffing needs in coordination with the General Manager
• Provide performance feedback and help drive accountability across the team

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in retail, food service, or restaurant leadership
• 1+ year of management experience preferred
• Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in high-volume, guest-focused environments
• Ability to read and act on business metrics such as P&L, labor, and sales

Must Haves for This Role

• High School Diploma or GED, in progress or completed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
• Willing to obtain and maintain food handler and alcohol server permits (if required)
