Job summary

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, seeks a Converting Equipment Specialist to operate, maintain and troubleshoot converting machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Circleville, Ohio.

You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and help develop SOPs, with training for junior staff; a high school diploma and mechanical/electrical aptitude are required; willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification in machinery operation is a plus.
  • Proven experience operating and troubleshooting converting machinery in manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to read manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot converting equipment.
  • Ensure safe, efficient machine operation to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Collaborate with maintenance for complex repairs and upgrades.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust to optimize performance.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and production data.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for operator tasks and changeovers.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior operators and technicians.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Position Overview

Sofidel America is a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, one of the leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Converting Equipment Specialist to join our team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot converting equipment
  • Ensure efficient and safe machine operation to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team for complex equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Monitor production processes, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and production data.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all tasks that operators need to perform to operate, maintain, and change over equipment successfully.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior operators and technicians.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in machinery operation or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Converting Equipment Specialist or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting converting machinery.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read equipment manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
