Job summary

Sofidel America in Shelby, NC seeks a CNV Production Engineer to support operations and drive reliable improvements across production lines. The role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and improving equipment performance through data-driven analysis and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

The engineer will design and test solutions, run acceptance tests on vendor equipment, and manage costs and compliance projects to sustain production performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial/Electrical) preferred.
• Experience in pulp/paper mill or converting equipment preferred.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing operations and perform capacity analysis.
• Promote a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address improvement areas in manufacturing processes and equipment, including quality improvement, waste reduction, risk reduction, and equipment malfunctions.
• Evaluate performance of raw materials trails, investigate opportunities for cost improvements, and lead equipment modification and installation.
• Prepare project justifications, benefit analyses, and facilitate Root Cause Analysis of processes and equipment issues.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve product line design and evaluate technical options for business initiatives.
• Conduct acceptance tests on equipment purchased from vendors.
• Manage business aspects of converting assets including monthly costs, compliance projects, and production performance.
• Design and draft layout of equipment, materials, and workspaces for maximum efficiency.
• Define process requirements for next-generation equipment through modeling and prototype experiments.
• Collaborate with product development and operations teams to deliver targeted process capabilities.

CNV Production Engineer - Shelby 2

Sofidel America of Shelby, NC is currently seeking a CNV Production Engineer. We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!

The CNV Production Engineer will assist operations and be responsible for offering reliable improvements of various production lines.

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical is preferred.
• Experience working in a pulp/paper mill, or with converting equipment, is preferred.
• Must be able to analyse manufacturing operations and perform capacity analysis to identify obstructions.
• Must demonstrate the ability to promote a safe working environment.
• Must have strong technical fundamentals with converting engineering skills.
• Knowledge in MS Office, ERP, and Manufacturing System is Preferred.
