Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to provide expert nursing leadership, advanced clinical care, and collaborative care planning in the Nursing Quality and Practice department.

The CNS will assess, diagnose, and manage patient conditions, lead interdisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and drive evidence-based practice initiatives while meeting regulatory and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Masters of Nursing Degree as CNS or current enrollment required.
• 2 years RN experience preferred.
• 1 year CNS experience in the relevant setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes and documents accurate comprehensive history and physical assessments.
• Orders, conducts, supervises, and interprets diagnostic studies.
• Prescribes treatments and therapies including medications and equipment.
• Implements prevention strategies and manages acute/chronic health problems.
• Provides clear information regarding patient care in records.
• Forms a comprehensive care plan with patient and team.
• Meets billing and productivity metrics and maintains documentation.
• Provides additional clinical duties as appropriate.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for resource-conscious care delivery.
• Educates patients, families, and significant others to aid decision-making.
