Job summary

GWS Tool Group in Nashville, TN is seeking a skilled CNC Tool Grinder/Programmer to produce premium quality carbide cutting tools using specialized grinding machines and software.

You will read blueprints, develop custom programs, set up equipment, program and run tools such as endmills, drills, and cutters, and maintain tooling accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 5+ years CNC tool and grinder programming experience.
• Proficient with Numroto, Rollomatic VGPro, Walter Tool Studio or Anca ToolRoom.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and programming languages.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Program, setup and operate machines to produce tools per product specifications.
• Ensure product accuracy and uniformity throughout manufacturing.
• Read blueprints to develop custom programs for specialty tooling.
• Provide preventative maintenance to all machines.
• Identify wheel wear on all wheel types.
• Create master programs for standard and modified endmills.
• Set up, inspect and run production on drills, keyway cutters, dovetail cutters & reamers.
• Create programs and wheel offsets for listed tools.
• Create master programs for tools within software capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title: CNC Tool Grinder/Programmer

Reports to: Production Unit Manager

Job Summary:

The CNC Tool Grinder/Programmer to produce premium quality, high precision carbide cutting tools using specific tool grinding machines and programs. Will ensure proper set up machines, programming, tooling, and parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and specifications.

• None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Program, setup and operate machines to produce tools per product specifications.
• Ensure product accuracy and uniformity throughout the manufacturing process creating consistent parts.
• Read technical drawings/blueprints to develop custom programs for specialty tooling.
• Provide general preventative maintenance to all machines.
• Identify wheel wear on ALL wheel types
• Create master programs for all standard and modified standard endmills.
• Set-up, inspect, produce good first piece & run production on drills, keyway cutters, dovetail cutters & reamers.
• Create programs and wheel offsets to drills, keyway cutters, dovetail cutters & reamers.
• Create master programs for ANY cutting tool within software capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining, programming or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in CNC tool and grinder programming.
• Must be proficient in using Numroto, Rollomatic VGPro, Walter Tool Studio and/or Anca ToolRoom software (multiple disciples preferred).
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and programming languages.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Requires hands-on experience with G-code programming to support CNC machine setup, troubleshooting, and production efficiency

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, bend or kneel when required.
