You’ll transform weld procedures into reliable robot programs, install and tune equipment, and lead the charge on quality—every part, every shift.Your missionTranslate welding requirements into efficient robot programs for GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and spot welding.Program and optimize CNC machine tending robots to keep parts moving and targets met.Install, program, and adjust robotic welding equipment and weld controllers to exact production specs.Calibrate and verify robotic arms, sensors, and tooling; validate with cut-and-etch and dimensional checks.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to protect throughput and equipment life.Troubleshoot robot, controller, and system issues to minimize downtime.Use calipers and gauges; document and report any process variations or quality concerns.Collaborate with manufacturing on setups, tool changes, and problem-solving to maintain smooth flow.Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work area—PPE on, MIOSHA guidance followed, environmental rules observed.Outcomes you’ll driveStable, repeatable welds that meet dimensional and quality standards.Rapid recovery from faults and alarms, keeping downtime to a minimum.Well-documented parameters and quality records that stand up to audits.Skills and credentialsMechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in MIG, TIG, and spot welding.Combination of welding experience and robotics/automation expertise.AWS Certified Robotic Arc Welder with strong foundational welding knowledge.Technical diploma or associate degree in robotics, automation, or welding technology.Proven work with FANUC, OTC Daihen, Nachi, and Yaskawa robots.Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and weld controllers (OTC Daihen, Fronius, Lincoln).Comfort with programming logic, sensors, and PLCs; skilled at reading blueprints, prints, and check sheets.Clear communicator and problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude.Physically able to stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; perform repetitive motions in a manufacturing setting.Understands and applies safety procedures, including MIOSHA and relevant government regulations.Capable of training, assisting, leading, directing, instructing, and disciplining employees as needed.Comfortable at a computer workstation; proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Drives urgency and time management; navigates unexpected challenges and rapidly finds solutions.
