Job summary

ASML in Wilton, NY is seeking a CNC Technician with at least 6 months of CNC experience in optical fabrication to set up and operate 3/5-axis CNC machines. You will read ISO blueprints, generate part programs (Mastercam), measure parts, and ensure quality while improving process efficiency.

The role requires high school/technical education, familiarity with Windows10 and SAP, and a strong safety mindset. Clean room work and potential travel may occur.

Qualifications

  • High School, Trade School graduate or GED required
  • Associate degree in machining from a vocational trade preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with CNC machines and equipment used in optical fabrication
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or vocational certification preferred.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including geometry and trigonometry
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Windows10, MS Office & SAP
  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges
  • Prior DMG, Hurco & Siemens control experience a plus

Responsibilities

Job description

CNC Experience is Required

Shift: Back End Days 6am – 6pm (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, alternate Wednesday)

As a CNC Technician, you will accurately manufacture and supply all ASML products in accordance with the established specification statements. You'll make improvements to existing products and processes and guide the implementation of new products and processes. CNC Technicians ensure quality and standardization, while contributing to improvements in effectivity and efficiency.

  • Responsible for the set up and operation of 3/5-Axis CNC specialized optical machining centers.
  • Assemble cutting tools into tool-holders and positions tool-holders in machine spindles and/or tool changer magazines asrequired.
  • Manually program CNC controllers through manual data input, and/or loadCAMgenerated CNC programs. Generate part programs using Mastercam.
  • Manipulate machine controls to setup cutting tools and machine work pieces through CNC operation.
  • Make tool changes and offsets to keep partsin spec and/or to compensate for tool wear.
  • Follow written English work instructions that describe the process and the required measurements.
  • Read and interpret ISO blueprints and incorporate them into part programs.
  • Measureworkpiecefor conformance to specifications.
  • Verify settings by regularly measuring parts before and after changes are made.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to supervisors and co-workers on other shifts.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsand notifyingsupervisorof discrepancies.
  • Effectively communicate one on one and in small groups to operators,managementand engineers
  • Prioritize, meetdeadlinesand manage changing priorities
  • Translaterequirements intoanexecutable schedule

Education Experience:

  • High School, TradeSchool graduate or G.E.Drequired
  • Associate degree inmachining froma vocational trade preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience working withCNC machines and equipment used in optical fabrication
  • Previousexperience working in a manufacturing facility or completion of a vocational certification preferable.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math,geometryand trigonometry
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Windows10, MS Office & SAP
  • Familiarity with using the following measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages.

  • May also be exposed to laser energy, magneticfieldsand open flames
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • May require travel dependent on business needs.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safetyglassesand gloves forentireduration of shift.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to35pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be comfortable working around lasers, working with ladders, working on platforms, and working around chemicals.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate to high noise level environment in a temperature-controlled environment
  • Must be comfortable operating/working around overhead cranes, forktrucksand motorized pallet movers.
  • Regularlyexposed to moving mechanical parts, solvents,polishing slurry,and tooling.

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
