Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Savannah, GA is seeking a CNC Tech II to set up and operate automated machines for fabrication of parts. The candidate will read drawings, test programs, replace tools, and ensure quality per engineering documents.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience (1 year on similar automated equipment). Travel up to 25% may be required. First shift, full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years related experience or education including 1 year with similar automated equipment.
• Experience operating automated CNC machines, preferably 5-axis.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated machine using existing programs.
• Test program and ensure machine is set up in accordance with drawings.
• Remove and/or replace cutting tools and offsets as required. Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.
• Manipulate programs to fit inserts into material, ensuring fit and conformity.
• Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.
• Identify material and appropriate cutting tools. Set up material and inspect for serviceability.
• Monitor material supply and validate preventative maintenance on machines.
• Complete paperwork and maintain a clean, safe work environment; comply with 5S and safety requirements.

Set up and operate automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials and layout techniques.

Essential Functions:
