CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist
Compensation: Starting pay of $23.50-32.00/hr + bonuses!
Location: Minneapolis, KS

Shift/Hours:

  • 1st Shift regular schedule of M-F, 6:00am-2:30pm
  • Opportunities for overtime available!

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate multiple CNC Swiss lathes. Duties to include generating CNC programs and installing appropriate tools.
  • Use CAD software as necessary to assist in program generation.
  • Edit programs to maximize throughput, reduce tooling expenses, and manage chip buildup.
  • Give detailed instructions and coaching to less experienced machine operators.
  • Interface with Sales and MFG teams to quote new items per-print while optimizing raw material selection.
  • Working from certified part drawings, utilize required precision measuring instruments to check machine positioning, inspect finished parts, and record results on SPC charts.
  • Produce parts that meet company and customer standards. Tolerances are typically close but not difficult to maintain.
  • Under supervision, work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to utilize mechanical and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment (Forklift, Reach Truck, etc.). In-house training provided.
Qualifications

Ideal Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, team player.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Reliability.
  • 5 years CNC programming required, preferably with Fanuc controls.
  • 5 years CNC Swiss lathe operation experience strongly desired, not required.
  • 1 yr CNC turning required.
  • Interest in career development and personal learning.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and/or environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities desired.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs desired.

Work Environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment - exposure to high temperatures, moving machinery, moving equipment, heights and confined spaces.
