Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years CNC machining experience with setup responsibilities.
• Formal CNC training or technical certification is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and setup sheets.
• Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers) helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and CNC schedule to determine setup priorities.
• Select, prepare, and install cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding for job setup.
• Oversee tool crib: check out, return, and maintain tooling for each job.
• Prioritize used tooling and maximize tool life while maintaining quality.
• Log setup times, changes, and downtimes in the Machine Metrics system.
• Load CNC programs and set machine parameters including offsets.
• Run test parts and inspect first runs for accuracy.
• Adjust machine settings and offsets to meet tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, VMS, and CMM.
• Troubleshoot setup issues and coordinate with operators to ensure production flow.
• Edit and document setup sheets for repeatability.
• Maintain 5S in setup area; keep tooling carts and machines clean.
• Collaborate with Leads, Programmers, and Quality to resolve CNC concerns.
• Follow safety protocols; maintain regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
