Job summary

Wabtec is hiring a CNC Set-up Operator in Greenville, SC to set up and run CNC mills and lathes, ensuring precision and quality. The role requires interpreting blueprints, selecting tooling, and adjusting programs to meet tight tolerances while maintaining safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of relevant CNC setup/operation experience, proficiency with G-code/G&M, and the ability to read process documentation and fixtures. Direct hire with day shifts and steady pay grace.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Mill and Lathe machines.
• Select and install tooling according to machining requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, process plans, program sheets, and fixture diagrams.
• Load and modify machine programs as needed.
• Make tooling and programming adjustments to maintain part quality.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Load and unload parts from machining equipment.
• Obtain first-piece approval and monitor production quality.
• Operate drill presses and other machine shop equipment.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
• Follow all safety procedures & quality standards.
