Job summary

Precise Tool & Manufacturing Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking CNC Setup/Operators with experience in setup and operation on CNC Lathes, VTLs, 5-axis Mills and large horizontal boring mills. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates with suitable CNC experience.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least 5 years of CNC setup/operator experience. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of CNC Setup/Operator experience.
• Experience with setup on CNC Lathes, VTLs, 5-axis Mills is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to setup machine for production.
• Setup job according to specifications or work order.
• Follow blueprints/directions to produce required quantity of parts.
• Follow all safety rules for CNC machine operation.
• Move raw material to machine area using pallet jack or by hand.
• Load material into machine by hand or crane.
• Move machined parts to boxes or pallets by hand or crane.
• Ensure parts meet basic quality standards before inspection area.
• Perform routine CNC machine maintenance and keep area clean.
• Use hand grinders, files, roto-burrs, and sand cloth to remove burrs.
• Support Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.

WE'RE HIRING CNC SETUP OPERATORS WITH EXPERIENCE WITH SETUP AND OPERATION ON THE FOLLOWING MACHINES:

• CNC Lathes
• CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
• 5-axis CNC Mills
• Large CNC Horizontal Boring Mills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Read blueprints to setup machine for production.
• Setup job according to specifications or work order.
• Follow blueprints and/or directions to produce required quantity of parts.
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines regarding CNC machine operation and proper guarding.
• Move raw material to machine area, either by hand or using a pallet jack.
• Load material into machine, either by hand or using a crane.
• Move machined parts to boxes or pallets, either by hand or using a crane.
• Ensure parts meet basic quality standards prior to transferring them to inspection area.
• Complete routine CNC machine maintenance and keep work area in clean working order.
• Use various tools - such as hand grinders, files, roto-burrs, and sand cloth - to remove burrs from parts.
• Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Depending on the position, familiarity with Mazatrol controls a plus.
• Depending on the position, experience with Fanuc controls will be required.
• Ability to machine large parts (components up to 12\" in diameter) required,
• Ability to machine oversized or heavy parts (components larger than 12\" in diameter) is a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Setup/Operator.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $20.00 - $34.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
