Job summary

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist on 3rd shift at our Charleston, SC facility. Relocation is offered.

The core hours are 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Monday - Friday, with a rate of $33.50-$37.50 per hour including shift differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The setup machinist will lead transitions between runs on CNC mills and lathes, then operate machines to ensure quality parts from the work cell.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment; OR an Associate's degree or higher in machining or manufacturing related discipline.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience setting up CNC lathes and/or mills.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
• Relocation is offered. Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Charleston, SC; or be willing to reside within this region, to be considered for this role. Must currently live within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Properly set tools in machine locations required for set-up & perform part changeover including program retrieval and input.
• Establish work offsets (G54, G55, etc.) manually and utilizing probing technology.
• Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes.
• Calculate and input axis coordinates for CNC machines up to 3 axis’s or use spindle probe to determine work offsets.
• Calculate and input axis coordinates X, Y and Z or use spindle probe to determine work offsets.
• Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing results to make adjustments to work offsets.

The rate for this position is$33.50-$37.50 (including shift differential).

This position is currently offering a sign-on bonus of $3,000*; less applicable withholding.

Bonus terms

• Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only.
• Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
• Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.
• Bonuses will be paid out in two installments: $1,000 less applicable withholding in the first (1st) paycheck. Remaining $2,000 less applicable withholding will be paid out after six (6) months of employment.

What you’ll do:

Position Criteria:

• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Able to perform basic shop math.
• A demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
