Job summary

Western Enterprises, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a CNC Set-Up Operator for the Avon Lake area. You will set up and adjust CNC programs for various machines, read blueprints, and ensure accurate tooling and calibration to meet production specs.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong math and measurement skills. We offer weekly pay, 401(k), comprehensive health benefits, and a supportive team environment at Marmon facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining/setup experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
• Strong math skills (including fractions and decimals).
• Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and edit CNC programs for lathes, Swiss machines, and milling machines.
• Use shop packages including manufacturing orders, routings, and blueprints to perform setups.
• Install and secure tooling; set and adjust speeds and feed rates.
• Operate CNC machines and monitor production to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Inspect first-run and in-process parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform and document in-process inspections and quality checks.
• Replace worn tools and ensure gauges and instruments are within calibration.
• Support multiple machine operations simultaneously as required.
• Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
