Evergreen by Park Capital Search in Springfield, IL is hiring an experienced CNC set-up machinist for night shift. You will set up and run milling centers from blueprints and gauging sheets, load by hoist, align fixtures, select tooling, and dial in speeds and feeds to hold tight tolerances.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on CNC set-up on mills, familiarity with G-code, GD&T, and multiple controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on CNC set-up experience on mills
• Ability to read G-code and interpret blueprints
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerances
• Experience with multiple controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, G&L, DMG Mori) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC milling centers from blueprints and gauging sheets
• Position, hoist-load, align fixtures, and set tooling; dial in speeds and feeds
• Maintain tight tolerances using micrometers and gauges; troubleshoot and avoid scrap
• Keep department organized and promote 5S standards

$22.00 to $30.00 per hour DOE | Full time | Direct hire

My client makes parts for the largest mining truck in the world. Also aerospace and defense, and components for a private US space program.

If you are setting up mills now and running the same 3 parts you ran last year, that is the difference. The work here is large, tight tolerance, and it changes.

An established, family owned precision machining manufacturer in Springfield is hiring experienced CNC set-up machinists, with the biggest need on night shift. This is a shop that sets up its own jobs, cross-trains its people and promotes from within, so the supervisors have run the same machines they now oversee. Build your career here!

What the job is

You’ll set up and run CNC machining centers, primarily mills, from blueprints and gauging sheets. That means positioning and fastening large workpieces, loading by hoist, aligning fixtures, selecting and setting tooling, dialing in speeds and feeds, and holding tight tolerances with micrometers and ID and OD gauges. You’ll hear a cut going wrong before it becomes scrap, troubleshoot it, take the job down cleanly, and help keep the department to a 5S standard.

What you bring

3 or more years of hands‑on CNC set‑up experience, not operation only, with mill set‑up strongly preferred. Experienced lathe set‑up machinists are welcome to apply. You can read G‑code and interpret blueprints, understand GD&T, and have run Fanuc controls, with Siemens, Heidenhain, G&L or DMG Mori 5‑axis experience a plus. You can lift, push or pull 50 pounds during set‑ups.

Schedule

Night shift runs 7:30pm to 6:00am Monday thru Thursday. Day shift runs Monday thru Thursday also, and weekend openings are also available, and weekend 12‑hour shifts carry a 4‑hour pay differential.

Pay and benefits

$22.00 to $30.00 per hour based on skill and experience, with room above the range for exceptional set‑up machinists. Benefits include 401(k), medical, dental, vision, basic life and voluntary life, plus Aflac short‑term disability, hospital confinement, accident and cancer coverage.
