Job summary

CoorsTek in Hillsboro, OR seeks a CNC Set-Up I to prepare and operate CNC machines for production. Responsibilities include loading programs, making minor adjustments, and following work instructions to ensure quality parts.

The role requires 3 years of CNC experience, ability to read CAD/CAM programs, and familiarity with GD&T and SPC. Shift runs Mon-Thu, 5:00am–3:30pm, with on-site work and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three years of relevant CNC experience.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM, G/M codes, GD&T and SPC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machinery by loading preset programs and adjusting for sequence.
• Operate CNC equipment to produce parts per work instructions.
• Inspect parts during in-process inspection and report deviations.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and preventative maintenance such as coolant/filter changes.
• Move and transport parts using hand-truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Keep work area, machines, and tools clean and organized.
• Wear required PPE as mandated.

Job Title

CNC Set-Up I

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machinery set-up function by downloading preset CNC programs; make minor adjustments to CNC programs to direct sequence of machine operation
• Operate CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product per work instructions
• Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results and notify appropriate person of deviation when needed
• Perform basic machine adjustments such as off-sets or setting tapers and basic preventative maintenance such as changing coolants, filters, etc.
• Stack and transport product via hand-truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist
• Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment
• Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

Job Requirements

• Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm (10 hour shifts)
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Experience: Three (3) year relevant experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions
• Intermediate math (algebra, geometry) and computer skills
• Ability to learn, understand and utilize CAD/CAM programs and G and M codes
• Ability to understand and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: USD 23.92 - USD 28.95

Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
