Job summary

Atlas Fibre is seeking a CNC Router Setup & Operator for 1st shift in Northbrook, IL. You will set up and operate Northwood and Onsrud CNC routers to machine thermoset laminates and engineering plastics, read blueprints, load materials, and verify part quality.

The role requires at least 1 year of hands-on CNC router experience, basic math and computer skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on CNC router setup and operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Reliable attendance and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Northwood and Onsrud CNC routers.
• Read blueprints, job travelers, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Load materials and secure workpieces using appropriate methods.
• Install tooling and complete machine setups for production jobs.
• Verify first-piece quality and adjust offsets as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure parts meet specs.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep a clean, safe area.
• Document production and quality data accurately.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet schedules.
