Job summary

Split Rock Studios is seeking a CNC Operator and Programmer to run our CNC for fabrication shops and external clients. The role involves translating drawings into ALPHACAM instructions, setting up machines, and ensuring quality control with precision measuring tools.

Preference given to candidates with ALPHACAM, woodWAP, Weeke CNCs, and exhibit fabrication experience. Full benefits package available; position is full-time on-site in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Operator/Programmer with ability to translate drawings and 3D models to machine instructions.
• Proficient with ALPHACAM and G-code, able to optimize nesting for sheet goods.
• Knowledge of measuring and inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM).
• Ability to set up machines, load materials, and monitor speeds/feeds in production.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerances, as well as safety regulations and PPE.
• Ability to estimate project pricing with Estimator and handle client invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Translate drawings/3D models into machine instructions using ALPHACAM (G-code).
• Configure zero/reference points, tool offsets, and load materials.
• Load materials, run test pieces, monitor speeds and feeds.
• Measure finished parts using precision tools against GD&T.
• Adjust tool wear offsets and perform daily machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Estimator on internal pricing and client requests.
