iCOMAT is pioneering rapid tow shearing and advanced manufacturing for curved-fiber composites. We hire an Offline CNC Programmer to translate CAD data into robust, repeatable CNC programs, ensuring first-time-right quality and continuous shop-floor readiness.

The role focuses on CAM-based offline programming, collaboration with engineering and production teams, and hands-on support to CNC operators to maintain program revisions through part lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Proven offline CNC programmer experience building programs at a CAM workstation.
• Proficiency in CATIA, Mastercam, Siemens NX CAM, PowerMill or Esprit.
• Solid working knowledge of G-code, M-code and post-processor configuration.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing and materials.
• High attention to detail and robust problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication and ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The business has currently more than 130,000 sqm of production capacity with manufacturing facilities in the UK (Gloucester and Swindon) and the US (Dayton, Ohio); a Hardware R&D Centre in Bristol, UK; and a Software R&D Centre in Athens, Greece.

Role

As an Offline CNC Programmer, you will be at the core of iCOMAT’s advanced manufacturing capability. Working from a CAD/CAM workstation (not at the machine), you will transform CAD models and customer drawings into robust, repeatable CNC programs, toolpaths and tooling strategies that deliver precision, efficiency, and first‑time‑right quality, so our shop floor runs continuously while the next job is already prepared. This is a CAM‑based offline programming role; it is not an operator or setter position.

What will you be doing

• Analyse and interpret CAD models and drawings to develop offline machining strategies in CAM software.

• Build toolpaths and post-processed CNC programs offline using CAM software, including 3 to 5‑axis machining, and design the associated fixtures and tooling.

• Select tools, speeds and feeds.

• Run full offline simulations (toolpath verification, collision and gouge checks, post‑processor validation) before any program reaches the machine.

• Drive process improvements.

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams.

• Maintain detailed documentation.

• Hand programs to the shop floor, train and support CNC operators and setters, and own program revisions through the part lifecycle.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience as an offline CNC programmer (i.e. building programs at a CAM workstation, not editing G‑code at the controller), including 3 to 5‑axis machining.

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (CATIA, Mastercam, Siemens NX CAM, PowerMill, Esprit or equivalent), plus a solid working knowledge of G‑code, M‑code and post‑processor configuration.

• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing and materials, with hands‑on experience running toolpath simulations and validating posts before release to the floor.
