Job summary

General Plastics Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with strong machinist experience to join our team. The role requires mastering Mastercam, setup of 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines, and operating Haas or CMS CNCs to produce aerospace-grade parts.

Ideal candidates have a decade in the industry, with a minimum of five years in both setup and programming, and possess excellent GD&T knowledge and print-reading abilities.

Qualifications

  • 10 years in the industry with at least 5 in setup and 5 in programming.
  • Minimum 5 years setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
  • Experience with Mastercam programming and Haas/Fanuc controls.
  • Excellent GD&T reading per ASME Y14.5M-1994 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Write Mastercam programs for complete parts, fixtures and tools.
  • Operate machines with minimal direction and run multiple CNCs.
  • Edit CNC programs at machine or via CAM programming.
  • Work with 3D geometry, tools, and work-holds for complex parts.
  • Review engineering docs and tooling for clarity and quality.
  • Collaborate with CNC team members and meet tight timelines.
  • Ensure safety, tool integrity and machine maintenance readiness.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a CNC Programmer with strong Machinist skills and the ability to utilize Mastercam.

The ideal candidate has 10 years' experience in the industry, with at least 5 doing setup and 5 doing programming.

We work with Haas and CMS machines and with Haas and Fanuc controls.

  • Write programs in Mastercam for complete parts including fixture, jigs, tools, and work-aids for any setups required.
  • Ability to operate all machines with minimal direction
  • Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously
  • Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine or with CAM programming
  • Experience and familiarity with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
  • Review all engineering, work instructions and affiliated tooling for clarity and quality
  • Work well with CNC team members
  • Experience with set up and precision hand tools
  • Demonstrated ability with completing work orders and meeting stringent customer timelines
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Must have experience with aerospace components
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience setting up with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Programming using Mastercam
  • Experienced with Haas and Fanuc
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledgeable about CNC maintenance and all equipment capabilities
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Excellent print reading skills and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994, or later, standard.
  • Must be able to receive and interpret instructions and directions from supervisors and peers
  • Must demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience machining plastics or composites strongly preferred

The physical demand for this position requires the employee to be physically capable of working in a variety of environments and weather.
