Armstrong Mold Corp in East Syracuse, NY, is seeking a first shift CNC Programmer to develop and optimize machining programs for aluminum castings and billets using horizontal and vertical CNC centers. The role focuses on producing detailed instructions and robust CAM programs to meet engineering drawings and specifications.

The position requires an A.A.S. in Mechanical Technologies or equivalent and about 4 years of CNC programming experience, preferably with Mastercam.

Qualifications

• Requires A.A.S in Mechanical technologies or equivalent and 4 years CNC programming experience.
• Ability to program and machine complex geometries using CAM software.
• Strong reading comprehension and mathematical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create medium to high complexity CNC programs using three+ axis CAM software.
• Execute offline simulations to ensure zero-cault collisions and efficient cycles.
• Support setup and prove-out, obtain first piece approval, and hand off to production.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot CNC programs and optimize machining approaches.
• Review drawings to ensure manufacturability and suggest improvements to tooling and processes.
• Develop and maintain reports, tooling lists, and setup instructions.
