Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team in a 2nd shift. You will analyze blueprints, program and set up 3-axis CNC mills, and run trials to ensure precision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years programming and setup for 3-axis CNC mills.
• CAM software experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of basic machining practices.
• Strong math skills and ability to communicate technical details.

Responsibilities

• Analyze specifications: review job orders, blueprints, and drawings to determine dimensions, tools, and speeds.
• Program CNC machines using CAM software for precise, efficient production.
• Set up CNC equipment, calibrate tools, and verify machine function before runs.
• Perform trial runs and adjust programs to minimize errors.
• Maintain safety, PPE, and a clean, organized work area.
• Provide cross-departmental support to ensure smooth operations.

CNC Programmer/Operator

Are you ready to bring your CNC skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled CNC Programmers/Operators like you!

What You’ll Do

• Analyze specifications: Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to calculate dimensions, select tools, and determine machine speeds.
• Program CNC machines: Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency.
• CNC setup & calibration: Set up CNC equipment, calibrate tools, and ensure proper machine function before production.
• Trial runs & adjustments: Perform trial simulations, adjusting programs as needed to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
• Safety & cleanliness: Follow all safety standards, wear PPE for the duration of the shift while on the manufacturing floor, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Cross-departmental support: Assist with other areas of production as needed to ensure smooth operations.

What You’ll Bring

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills.
• CAM software: Experience with CAM software preferred.
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of basic machining practices and mechanical processes.
• Mathematics & communication: Solid math skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical details.
• Problem-solving & teamwork: Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Physical requirements: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Work ethic: Dependable with a commitment to high-quality, precise work standards.

Your Schedule

• 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:30 PM – 1:0 AM
