CNC Programmer – Direct Hire | Daylight Shift Location: Pittsburgh Area (Two Local Facilities) Schedule: Monday – Friday + Overtime as Needed Shift: Daylight Pay: Up to $39.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

TOPS Staffing is hiring a skilled CNC Programmer for a direct hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing company in the Pittsburgh area. This role supports two nearby facilities (within 15 minutes of each other) and offers the chance to work on a variety of equipment, parts, and projects. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on programmer who can take ownership of both programming and shop floor support.

Position Overview

As a CNC Programmer, you will develop and optimize programs using CAD/CAM software while also assisting with setups, tooling, and troubleshooting. You’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient, high‑quality production across both locations.

Machine Overview

• Location 1: 2 CNC Mills (1 Vertical, 1 Horizontal)
• Location 2: 3 CNC Machines (Haas Mills & Lathes)

Key Responsibilities

• Create and edit CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
• Support both facilities with programming and process improvements
• Set up CNC mills and lathes, including tooling and work offsets
• Perform tool changes, fixture adjustments, and setup optimization
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools
• Optimize feeds, speeds, and tooling for efficiency and accuracy
• Provide technical support to machinists and operators

What We’re Looking For

• Strong CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software
• 3+ years of machining experience including setups and troubleshooting
• Ability to edit G-code and make machine‑side adjustments
• Experience working with CNC mills and lathes
• Proficiency with micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection tools
• Ability to read complex drawings and hold tight tolerances
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Self‑driven and able to manage responsibilities across two locations

Nice to Have

• Experience with Haas machines
• Fixture design or build experience
• Ability to program from scratch and improve existing processes

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
