This one-of-a-kind, job-shop environment focuses on aluminum and polyboard molds, with hands-on design and machining on 3-axis machines using Mastercam. The role emphasizes problem-solving and precision in a mold-focused shop.

Qualifications

• Proficient CAD/CAM programming and CNC machining is required.
• Experience with Mastercam is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and workholding.
• Comfortable in a job-shop environment, not high-volume production.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify mold/tooling designs using Mastercam CAD/CAM.
• Program CNC machines and set up 3-axis VMCs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Load, edit and run programs; adjust tooling and workholding.
• Ensure first-part inspection and quality parts; troubleshoot issues.
• Move between multiple CNC machines as projects require.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.

CAD/CAM Programmer / CNC MachinistLocation:Hamilton, OH Pay:$27–$33/hr Job Type:Direct Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experiencedCAD/CAM Programmer / CNC Machinistto join a specialized mold and tooling shop in Hamilton, OH. This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for taking projects frominitial mold design through CNC programming, machine setup, and machining of the finished part.This isnot a high-volume production environment. Each mold isone-of-a-kind and designed for a specific application, giving you the opportunity to work on unique projects and use your problem-solving and machining skills every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modifymold and tooling designsusing Mastercam CAD/CAM.
• Program CNC machines usingMastercam X25 and previous versions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Set up and operate3-axis CNC vertical machining centers.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Load programs and make necessary adjustments at the machine.
• Set upworkholdingand properly locate/secure materials.
• Run first parts and inspect dimensions for accuracy.
• Troubleshootmachiningandprogrammingissues.
• Make program or setup adjustments as needed to produce quality parts.
• Work with aluminum approximately99% of the time.
• Machinepolyboardfor fixtures and tooling.
• Move between different CNC machines as projects require.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

CNC Equipment

The shop operates:

• 3 HURCO CNC machines
• 4 FADAL CNC machines
• 3MilltronicsVMC machines

Qualifications

• Previous experience withCAD/CAM programming and CNC machining.
• Experience withMastercamstronglypreferred.
• Ability to design, program, set up, and run CNC equipment.
• Strong understanding of3-axis milling.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, andworkholding.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality parts.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues independently.
• Experience working with aluminum is highly preferred.
• Must be comfortable working in ajob-shop/tooling environmentrather than repetitive production.
