Job summary

Zenix Aerospace SoCal is seeking a CNC Programmer for the Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA. This role focuses on planning, writing, and revising CNC programs for contour-path machining on automatic control machines.

You will analyze drawings, set tool paths, verify programs with Vericut, and document the process while working 1st shift Monday–Friday. 5+ years of programming experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing programming experience.
  • CNC programming and CAM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC machines (Siemens NX CAM) for lathes, multi-axis spindles, and mills.
  • Apply material and tooling knowledge to meet precise specs.
  • Analyze drawings to set dimensions, tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Determine reference points and paths; review with Vericut for crashes.
  • Write and document instruction sheets and cutter lists.
  • Maintain and update program documentation.

Job description

Title: CNC Programmer

Shift: 1st Shift (6:30am - 3:00pm) Monday - Friday

Facility & Location: Ketema, El Cajon, CA

What Does the Job Involve?

Plans, writes, and revises CNC programs to control contour‑path machining of parts on automatic control machines. Designs, codes, tests, and debugs moderately complex programs. Provides detailed specifications for program development. Maintains cutter/tool systems, including tool libraries and tool life tracking.

Responsibilities
  • Program automatic controlled machines (CNC) in Siemens NX CAM software for machining various parts, including lathes, multi‑axis spindles, and milling machines.
  • Apply knowledge of material properties and CNC programming to design and carry out operations that meet precise specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret drawings, sketches, blueprints, and design data to determine dimensions, cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates based on machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities.
  • Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths; compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, curvatures, and sequence of operations. Use Vericut to review programs for crash errors before production. Apply Macro B variables in machine control/programming language.
  • Write and document instruction sheets and cutter lists; produce and revise machine instruction programs to eliminate errors. Observe machine operation on trial runs to verify programmed instructions.
  • Analyze and revise system logic; prepare and maintain program documentation.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, comply with work rules and procedures, accept feedback, set goals, and exhibit initiative and commitment.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school education/GED required or equivalent experience and education.

Experience

  • 5+ years of manufacturing programming experience. Machine operation experience and computer‑aided manufacturing experience a plus.
