This role exists to support ongoing aerospace production programs by developing, optimizing, and sustaining CNC machining processes across milling, turning, and grinding operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a critical role in bridging engineering and production to ensure efficient, repeatable, and high‑quality manufacturing outcomes.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Own and support CNC machining processes from concept through production
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for multi‑axis milling, turning, and grinding operations
  • Select tooling and cutting strategies to maximize efficiency, quality, and tool life
  • Design and implement fixtures and workholding solutions to improve repeatability and throughput
  • Work directly with machinists and production leads to resolve issues in real time
  • Provide hands‑on shop floor support for setups, prove‑outs, and process validation
  • Drive material review board (MRB) activities and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with quality, lab engineers, and production teams to meet technical and customer requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing efforts
Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with and support:

  • Machines: Multi‑axis CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and grinding equipment
  • Controls: Fanuc and other CNC controls depending on equipment
  • CAM Software: NX, Mastercam, or similar CAM platforms
  • CAD/Engineering Tools: CAD modeling and process validation tools
  • Inspection Tools: Standard precision inspection equipment and quality systems
Materials You’ll Work With
  • Titanium
  • Inconel
  • Stainless Steel

What We’re Looking For
Required
  • 5+ years of CNC process engineering or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Hands‑on experience with multi‑axis machining (milling, turning, and/or grinding)
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining strategy
  • Experience designing fixtures and workholding solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience working directly with production teams in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

Pay Range: $90,000 – $110,000 per year (DOE)
