Job summary

TASSCO in Birmingham, AL is seeking a dedicated CNC Plasma Operator to own the operation and maintenance of our plasma tables, ensuring precision from loading material to inspecting finished cuts. You will verify programs against blueprints and run quality checks before production.

You will manage daily machine checkups, safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts, and communicate statuses during shift handoffs to keep production moving smoothly, autonomously when needed.

Qualifications

• Work ethic and reliability on the shop floor.
• Ability to rapidly and accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to follow instructions, problem-solve, and work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma tables, load/unload materials and perform daily routine checks.
• Verify machine programs against fabrication blueprints for correct dimensions.
• Organize material plates and drops in designated stations.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move loads.
• Provide clear briefings to relieving shifts for smooth handoffs.
• Maintain housekeeping around CNC Plasma equipment for safety.
• Troubleshoot issues and execute tasks with independence.
