Job summary

McWane, Inc. Tyler, TX is seeking a CNC Journeyman Machinist to set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes and mills. The role requires interpreting blueprints and specifications, training operators, and maintaining safety protocols to ensure high-quality parts.

The position offers a day shift (5:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Thursday) with a pay rate of $30.71/hour and a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced machine shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines, including working knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges).
• Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and ability to maintain required machinist tools and measuring instruments.
• Must furnish and maintain required personal machinist tools and measuring instruments.
• Physically able to stand, lift, and operate equipment.
• Must pass both a written and performance exam.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, optimize CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components and improve efficiency.
• Read blueprints and specs, coordinating tooling, workflow, and production activities to meet requirements.
• Train CNC operators and inspect parts with precision measuring tools to ensure quality.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Company may assign additional duties as necessary to meet operational needs.
