Job summary

HSM, with its HQ in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Material Handler to support inventory control, shipping/receiving, and equipment operation. You will transport materials, track stock with scan guns, and maintain accurate records in a team-oriented environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, up to 50 lbs lifting, and willingness to work OT. Forklift experience and basic math are preferred, with benefits including health coverage, 401(k), PTO, and on-site clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred (not required).
• Forklift experience (can pass certification) preferred.
• Experience using scan guns or similar warehouse technology preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Willingness to work overtime and in a team environment.
• Ability to perform basic math and follow instructions precisely.
• Comfortable in limited-climate-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling & Inventory Management: obtain and transport materials to designated areas; organize stock; track with scan guns; report inventory levels.
• Shipping & Receiving: load/unload, ship confirmations, and paperwork; prepare products for shipment.
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance: operate forklifts and pallet jacks; perform safety checklists and report issues.
• 5S & Safety Compliance: maintain clean work areas and adhere to PPE and safety policies; report hazards.
• Teamwork & Additional Responsibilities: collaborate with colleagues; follow training matrices; take on additional tasks as assigned.
