CNC Operator Level 3- 2nd Shift

Description
The following is a list of general responsibilities and skills necessary to perform the duties of the CNC Level 3 classification (labor grade 9).
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to perform CNC Level 1 & 2 requirements
- Operate all CNC equipment (mills/lathes)
- Set‑up and operate equipment per MO requirements using blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces
- Change tool inserts as required to maintain part specifications and monitor tool usage and wear
- Have a good working knowledge of M & G codes
- Be trained to enter work orders into the maintenance system
- Configure CNC by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and proving part programs
- Load machine with work pieces and verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample work pieces
- Maintain specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, editing programs, sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Accomplish organization goals by offering improvement opportunities
- Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
- Work with higher‑level CNC associates to troubleshoot, set‑up and machine new products
- Work with lower CNC levels to guide and coach them on higher‑skilled tasks
- Work with supervision and leads to assure equipment is safe, tooling is on‑hand and assist in keeping equipment in operation to meet schedule requirements
- Perform basic service checks per documented procedures (check and add coolant and oils as required)
