The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in safety who will support our projects. This person will constantly be responsible for successfully integrating safety initiatives into the functional operation of the different projects by maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.

About The Role

Position Overview: Use pre‑nested cut cards and other documentation to convert raw shape steel into semi‑finished parts for fabrication. Information on the cut card must be read, understood, and verified prior to cutting. This includes, but is not limited to: type, size, and weight of beam, cut length, and heat number.

Essential Job Functions
  • Verify the material is correct prior to cutting
  • Work off pre‑nested cut sheets
  • Match nested cut sheet description and length with material; be able to read a tape measure
  • Use manual or CNC measuring to measure material being cut
  • Mark and identify steel per jobs
  • Properly stack material safely and stage pre‑jobs
  • Understand, interpret, and edit G‑code programming
  • Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Ensure inserts are in working condition and material cutting is square
  • Mark up drops and return to stock
  • Load and unload the machine with an overhead crane
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
  • Know the difference among material types (WF, TS, CH, L)
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Ability to read blueprints (preferred)
  • 12+ months running a CNC machine (Peddinghaus FDB 2500)
  • Self‑starter and eager to learn
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in overhead crane operation is helpful
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
